Magnum is a nine year old Pit Mix rescued from a 49th Street sidewalk.

From his family: "Magnum is fully socialized and goes ...everywhere.....with me. Magnum has learned to "stay" very well. However...recall? He returns to me only after a delay that is long enough to make everyone think that coming to me....was his idea anyway! He loves all people, new and old friends, and insists they give him a belly scratch wherever we are: store, dog park, restaurant, Best Buy, sidewalk..or anywhere. Magnum is an unexpectedly a very gentle dog. Magnum can catch his treats really well when I toss them. Magnum does not enjoy toy balls, but he lives to play tug-of-war with people or other dogs and part of his tugging play is an unnerving and ferocious growl - but it is all in fun."

"Magnum was walking stray on a 49th St sidewalk in the fall of 2019 when I saw him dangerously near traffic. Took about 30 mins, but when I laid down in a parking lot and stared at the sky so i wouldn't make eye contact, he abanded his keep-a-distance behavior, hesitantly came over to me, put his nose on my leg, and that's how I finally grabbed/got Magnum. Discovered there was nothing on the collar, and the Pet Pal clinic could find no chip, Brought him home, condo, 25 lb limit, so shortly we got the letter from the HOA, "Get him out!" My wife found a Ft. Lauderdale attorney who made 1 fierce call to the HOA attorney and then a 2nd 'Soprano" type threatening call (all legal of course) afterwhich, the HOA attorney wrote a letter to the HOA....recommending Magnum for residency! We tried for weeks to find his owner...no luck so Magnum became part of our family and is now loved by everyone in our condo complex. Magnum is a quasi celebrity dog because his human mom who he snuggles up to at nght is Dr. Twila Liggett, sole creator, founder, and hands on-daily Executive Producer of PBS"s 26 Emmy winning, 26 year long...Reading Rainbow children's program series. Magnum's big ears are called, by some people, "Bat ears!" Magnum had a mysterious start, but now is with us 6 years, gets a 90 getsmin dog park visit every day, and has lots of off-leash walks.......he was truly "Born To Be Alive!"
